DIGITAL RETINAL IMAGING

Advanced technology used with skill.  Our digital retinal imaging allows us to take a real time scan of the back of your eye. This photograph then helps your eye specialist to see in detail many health and vision issues including for instance:

• Diabetes

• Glaucoma

• Macular Degeneration

• Other Retinal diseases

Believe it or not, it only takes a minute to capture an image of the back of your eye.  And after taking a real-time scan, our eye doctor will review the retinal photo with you – letting you see in detail the exact state of health of the tissues of your eye.

The image is then stored in our records to allow your optometrist to track your eye health over time and to ensure that you receive the most effective treatment. This will also make it more convenient for us to answer any questions you might have – for example, if you want to know if you have any signs of diabetic damage or if you’re developing macular degeneration we can pull your latest digital retinal image and refer to it with ease.
